Teachers, counselors and business partners gathered at the Timberlake Lodge and Hotel on September 1, to hear about the need for work-based learning in our career pathways programs.
Tamarah Fields and JoLynn Fletcher from NC3T presented information and trends in education and the workforce. Each group discussed challenges that our schools and businesses face, and ways that we can work together to help students find careers that are fulfilling.
School and Pathway teams will plan work-based learning activities for the coming school year…everything from guest speakers to business tours.
On August 3rd – 4th, over 30 students across IASC and other districts in NE Minnesota attended Scrubs Camp hosted at Hibbing Community College. Students had the opportunity to learn about different healthcare professions such as nursing, mental health, respiratory therapist, paramedic, surgical tech, pharmacy, information technology and healthcare administration.
