Career pathway
The Education Career Pathway prepares students for a career in teaching. Education careers are for students who enjoy working with kids and serving others, are enthusiastic and passionate about learning, and are creative!
IASC Next Education Career Pathway will prepare students for a variety of careers in education and partners with Itasca Community College’s Class Act program for post-secondary college preparation. Students in the Education Career Pathway will Explore a variety of careers available in the field of education, Identify personal strengths and areas for growth, practice skills school districts are looking for when hiring new employees, Job shadow and interview an education professional in an area of interest, spend time learning about an education career of interest. Junior and Senior IASC students can receive college credit for completing the Intro to Teaching course and gain hands-on experience assistant teaching in a classroom setting. Courses in an Education Career Pathway include: Education Careers Exploration, CIS Introduction to Teaching, Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Nutrition, etc.
